Tournament Hotel Announced

The UPA is pleased to announce a partnership with the Crowne Plaza Hotel-Denver International Airport. The Crowne Plaza will serve as the tournament hotel and is offering great rates, location, and amenities for tournament attendees. See the Travel & Accommodations page for more details. Be sure to make reservations before June 10 to guarantee rates.

Phase 2 Bids Awarded

The Phase 2 application process is complete and the final few bids have been awarded. In the Grand Masters Division, one final bid was awarded to "DoG" from Boston, MA (Northeast Region). This brings the total number of Grand Masters teams at the tournament to 20. In the Masters Women's Division, the final two spots were awarded to Madison (Central Region) and Safari (Southwest Region), bringing the total numbe of teams to 16. Selection critieria for Phase 2 bids included geographic representation and potential team strength.

Other applying teams have been offered spots on the wait list. Due field site limitations, the event, which was initially estimated would attract 12-24 teams, has been capped at 36 total teams (20 GM and 16 MW). More GM teams applied than MW teams during Phase 1, which guaranteed bids, and is the reason for the difference in the number of teams. Check out the Teams page for the final list of invited teams.

Phase 1 Bids Awarded

The UPA is excited to announce that the response to this event has been even greater than expected. Initial plans have been changed to expand the tournament to accommodate all of the on-time Phase 1 registered teams.

Phase 2 registration is now open. Teams must register and submit a $180 deposit by April 24 (5PM Mountain Time) by submitting a Phase 2 Team Application Form to UPA headquarters. Note: Awarding of Phase 2 bids will be contingent upon space available at the event. Space is very limited, and teams not awarded bids will be placed on a wait list.
